The Arc of Carroll County has been awarded a $10,415 grant from the Maryland Affordable Housing Trust to replace worn flooring in three Alternative Living Units (ALUs). The damaged flooring is a safety hazard for residents of the homes who use wheelchairs and walkers.
The Maryland Affordable Housing Trust (MAHT) was created by the Maryland General Assembly in 1992 to support affordable housing initiatives in the state. The Trust is governed by a Board of Trustees and staffed by the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development. A portion of the interest generated by title company escrow provides the funding for MAHT.
