The Arc of Carroll County held its annual transportation breakfast on June 15 at the Best Western in Westminster.
Drivers with perfect attendance and those who achieved service milestones received awards. In addition, Jim Bullock, area supervisor in transportation for Carroll County Public Schools, was recognized for his many years of outstanding support and service to people with disabilities and the Arc. Bullock is retiring from the school system. The Arc is the largest transportation subcontractor for the Board of Education, transporting more than 500 students to Carroll County schools each school day.
Drivers with perfect attendance for the 2008-09 school year were Sadia Norvell, Westminster; Greg Boughter, Westminster; Christine Bosley, Hampstead; Lee Humphries, Mount Airy; Donna Steger, Lineboro; and Larry Hersh, Taneytown.
Drivers who achieved service milestones include Donna Steger, Lineboro, 25 years; James Long, Westminster, 15 years; 10 years were Evelyn Eyler, Westminster; Kathleen Lee, Taneytown; Elsie Vaughn, Taneytown; Herb Sommer, Mount Airy; and Edwin Bennett, Woodbine; five years were Dana Yeshnik, Joyce Fritz, Ann Smith and Cheryl Watson, all Westminster; Deborah Eckard, Taneytown; and Marlene Paine, New Windsor.
