Westminster High School student Chris Anderson is one of three individuals who received the 2008 Outstanding Youth Fundraiser Awards from the Association of Fundraising Professionals of Maryland in Baltimore on Nov. 3. Anderson was honored for his independent fundraising efforts in support of The Arc of Carroll County. As part of his Eagle Scout requirements, Anderson raised money to refurbish a patio/outdoor break area at The Arc. The money raised exceeded the cost of the project, so he donated the remaining $900 to The Arc. He also started a “Buy The Arc a Chair” campaign to raise money to buy 50 new chairs and negotiated a reduced price for the chairs with an office supply store.
